Wood River Counselor

Welcome to Wood River Elementary!

My name is Harmony Salinas, and I am honored to serve as your school counselor here at Wood River Elementary.  Whether  you are new to our school or returning for another year, please know that I am here to support your child in every way possible. 

I am a proud product of Calallen ISD, having attended all 12 years and graduating as a lifelong Wildcat.  After high school, I earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, later obtaining my teaching certification.  For 10 years, I served at Magee Elementary in a variety of roles including PE paraprofessional, reading lab paraprofessional, 4th grade teacher, and 5th grade teacher.  In May 2017, I completed my Master of Education in School Counseling.  

As an elementary school counselor, my role is to help students explore careers, navigate academic challenges, and develop personal and social growth.  I work with students individually, in small groups, and in classrooms to provide guidance and support.  My goal is for every student to feel safe, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential.

At Wood River Elementary, we believe in building a strong school community where students, families, and staff work together for success.  I encourage you to reach out with any questions or concerns-open communication is key to helping every child thrive.
