Wood River Counselor

Welcome to Wood River Elementary! My name is Harmony Salinas, and I am honored to serve as your school counselor at Wood River Elementary.  Whether you are new to our school or returning for another year, I want to assure you that I am here to support your student in every way possible.  

I attended Calallen ISD for all 12 years of  schooling and I am proud to be a lifelong Wildcat.  After graduating from Calallen High School, I attended Texas A&M University Corpus Christi and obtained a bachelors degree in criminal justice.  Soon after, I received my teaching certification and spent 10 years at Magee Elementary in a variety of roles, including: PE paraprofessional, reading lab paraprofessional, 4th grade teacher, and 5th grade teacher.  In May of 2017, I completed my masters of education degree in school counseling.  

My role as an elementary school counselor is to help students with career exploration, navigate academic challenges, personal and social growth.  I am available to meet with students individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings to provide guidance and support.  My goal is to ensure that every student feels safe, valued, and empowered to reach their full potentials.             

At Wood River Elementary, we believe in fostering a strong school community where students, families, and staff work together for success.  I encourage you to reach out with any questions or concerns.  Communication is key to helping students be successful.
